About

An independent statistics project aggregating official Canadian public-sector contracting data.

The Public Service Index aggregates official Canadian public-sector contracting data into reproducible national statistics. It publishes the compiled corpus's aggregate series — values, volumes, competition, and challenges — as a public reference, with every measure defined and every release archived.

It is operated by No Strings Labs, the company behind PubSec.Pro, as an independent statistics project. Editorial and compilation decisions rest with the research team; the underlying records are public.

Corrections and methodological challenges are welcome and are addressed in release notes. All statistics are recomputed from the compiled corpus each release.

What we publish

Sixteen pages across four series — federal (1,313,281 awards), Quebec competition (405,956 tenders), CITT challenges (2,043 documents), and British Columbia (15,068 awards) — plus a glossary, release archive, FAQ, and these method notes. Zero JavaScript; all charts are inline SVG.
